Stefano Pioli

Stefano Pioli admits he will rotate his players in the Rossoneri’s Europa League clash against Sparta Praha tomorrow and reveals he spoke to Ciprian Tatarusanu.

“There will be some changes because we are spending so much, it is an important but very tiring moment,” Pioli said at a press conference.

“I don’t like to talk about turnover, I have many starters. Tomorrow I will deploy the best line-up, we are preparing for the best to face Sparta.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be rested for the Rossoneri’s upcoming European match.

“I will do all the assessments. After tomorrow’s game, we will immediately have another important match in Udine. If I ask Ibra if he wants to play, he’ll always say yes, like all my players. It’s important to have players who are physically and mentally ready.

“Even the lads do not know the line-up yet. I’m doing several evaluations, we still have two trainings. [Diogo] Dalot was signed to play both on the right and on the left.”

Milan won their opening Europa League clash away at Celtic last week.

“It’s a tough and difficult group, the opponents are valuable. Sparta have won each one of their league games so far and they had an even match against Lille when they were playing 11 vs. 11. They play a modern football, it will not be easy.

“We must always strive to get the most out of every game. Against Roma we wanted to win, we left the field with some regrets, but also with the knowledge of being on the right path.

“It is good that the guys are not completely satisfied with the result, it is right to always expect the best from ourselves.”

The back-up goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu committed a mistake that cost Milan a goal against the Giallorossi.

“I spoke with him, as I did with the rest of the team. I analyzed the game. I have full confidence in him and also in his teammates.

“Players must always help each other, we must continue like this.”

Both Paolo Maldini and Ivan Gazidis have revealed that Milan could sign new players in January but Pioli is not thinking about the upcoming winter transfer window.

“You already think about January, but we don’t because we still have so many games to play. We have clear ideas and if we have an opportunity we will improve the team”.

Pioli commented on the club’s decision to name Franco Baresi as the club’s honorary Vice-President.

“I am very happy for this decision. Franco is a legend of Milan and he will transmit the right values.

“I can’t wait for him to come here to Milanello to talk to me and the team. It’s important to have a lot of people who know what Milan is.”
