Scott McTominay was described as having the Midas Touch after his opener in Napoli’s eventual 1-1 draw away against Inter in a top-of-the-table clash in Serie A on Sunday night, as the former Manchester United midfielder continues to make an impression on the Italian press.

McTominay was among the standout performers in Napoli’s 1-1 draw away against Inter on Sunday evening. The Scotland international picked up his third goal in 10 matches after 23 minutes in San Siro, a stadium where he has now won twice and drawn once including his trips with Man United.

Napoli remain atop the Serie A table, albeit by one singular point, as Atalanta, Fiorentina, Inter and Lazio all sit just below them, while Juventus are also within two points of first place.

La Gazzetta dello Sport were among the outlets to praise McTominay after his goalscoring display against Inter.

The Pink Paper praised his willingness to make sacrifices against the Nerazzurri, his strength both on the ball and winning it back, and his ability to effectively nullify the threat from Italy international Nicolo Barella.

With his eye for the occasional goal, now up to three goals and one assist from nine league outings and one in the Coppa Italia, McTominay was described as a ‘complete’ midfielder in Monday’s reports.
