Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has finished in 20th place in the final ranking for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Inter’s Calhanoglu finished 20th in Ballon d’Or rankings
The Türkiye midfielder was one of two Nerazzurri players on the 2024 shortlist, alongside captain and last season’s leading goalscorer Lautaro Martinez. Yann Sommer has also been included on the Yachine Trophy shortlist for the best goalkeepers.
Calhanoglu made the cut after helping Inter storm their way to the 2023-24 Serie A title. He and his teammates ended up with a 19-point advantage over their city rivas, Milan, who ended up in second place last term.
It was a productive season for Inter’s midfield director, who grabbed 13 goals and provided three assists from 32 outings in Serie A last term, all while playing as a deep-lying playmaker.
It was not the most productive season in the Champions League for the Nerazzurri last season, as they were defeated on penalties after two legs of the round of 16 clash against Atletico Madrid.
