Italy international Riccardo Calafiori suffered a knee injury in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Shakhtar on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old was subbed off at minute 72 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian defender slipped while trying to change direction, and his knee made an unnatural movement.
The extent of the injury is still unclear, and Di Marzio reports that the Italian defender will be assessed in the coming hours.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta will probably provide an initial update on Calafiori’s condition during post-match interviews.
A product of the Roma academy, Calafiori joined Arsenal in a €50m deal from Bologna last summer.
He has one goal in 10 appearances across all competitions with the Gunners this season.
Arsenal’s next league game is against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
Calafiori’s Arsenal contract expires in June 2029.
Six years ago, Calafiori suffered a cruciate ligament injury while playing for Roma Primavera.
