Tuttosport newspaper reports Inter and Juventus target Jonathan David has requested a €6m-a-year salary, but Serie A clubs must face competition from Premier League giants such as Liverpool and Arsenal.

According to the latest Tuttosport report, Canada international David has requested a five-year contract worth €6m per season to complete a free transfer over the summer.

Serie A giants Juventus and Inter are long-time admirers of the Lille striker, whose contract with the Ligue 1 side expires in June.

Lille have already made a contract offer worth €3.5m per season to avoid losing the 24-year-old on a free transfer in June.

According to the report, Lille’s offer includes the promise of selling the striker in the summer for around €30m, but David and his entourage are unlikely to accept the proposal.

Tuttosport notes that competition for Juventus and Inter will be fierce. Premier League sides Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Aston Villa are also interested in the striker and have the financial power to outbid the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri.

Any interested club must also pay high agent fees – exceeding €10m – to secure the striker’s signature so the transfer race remains wide open.

David has previously been linked with Barcelona and Newcastle as well.
